CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION.

WIDOW'S SUIT FAILS. The claim for compensation by Mrs. Hannah Hamilton, c£ Auckland, whose husband died from heart failure during his employment by .George Court, Ltd., last year, was decided against the plaintiff in the Arbitration Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Frazer. Although trie plaintiff admitted that deceased had suffered from heart trouble several week/? prior to his death, the allegation was that his death was due to heart strain as the result of assisting to carry four heavy pieces and ends cf a fitting room from one department to another. She claimed £988 for herself and two children, and £2-5 medical and funeral expenses.

The claim failed owing to the volume of medical evidence that conflicted with the plaintiff's contention that death had been caused by strain. Costs and witnesses' expenses were awarded defendant.
