CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB.)

The Metropolitan Gun Club held its usual fortnightly shoot on Saturday. Among the competitors was Mrs. F. Seccombe, who nilt up a vety creditable performance considering that it was her first appearance on the ground, and that a strong wind from the right made shooting conditions rather difficult even for experienced shooters. Results: — No. 1 (seven bird sweepstake).—.T. Miller (13ydS), J. Gribble (14yds), P. N. Gallie (18yds), fi 1 . Seccombe (17yds) and L. F. Ramsey (10yds), all shot the possible, and divided the stake. No 2 (21-bird match for Mr. •C. E. Hodge's trophy).—-P. N. Gallie (13yds) and L. Peterson (17yds) both shot the possible and divided first and second money. J. Millet (13yds) and D. Hyauiason divided third money with 20 each. In the shootoff of five birds each for the trophy, Gallic arid Peterson were again equal. Shootipg on first miss out Gallie missed the thirtieth bird, Peterson getting his bird and winning the trophy.

No. 3 (10-bird sweepstake, all off 16yds).—J. Malcolm J. Miller, P. N. Gallie, F. Seccombe, G. H. Brown and L. Peterson shot all their birds and divided the pool- , „ No. 4 (five pairs double rise). —-T. Overton (12yds) shot all his birds and took first money. G. H. Brown (15yds) and P. N. Gallie divided second money with nine eaeli. The next shoot will take place on March 10, when teams from Auckland. Takapuiia and Hamilton will compete for the Barratt Cup.
