MAN OVERBOARD.

STEWARD ON THE MAKURA,

RECOVERED FROM THE SEA. TO BE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Apparently suffering from delusions, one of the stewards in the third-class jumped overboard during the voyage of the steamer Makura from San Francisco to Wellington. A lifebuoy was* thrown into the sea, a boat was lowered, and the ship put about.

The man was aboard again in twenty minutes, and was afterwards kept in the doctor's care. Arrangements have been made for his removal to hospital to-day.
