YOUNG MAN'S MARRIAGE
FINE, OF £5 IMPOSED.
A fina.ofr-£5 was imposed on Walter Woods,.' who .appeared for. sentence before Mri- Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court this morning on a charge of making a false marriage statement for.'the purpose of procuring a marriage certificate. _, ' .«£& seems that you married a girl who was under 21' years of age, and that you made a false statement to the registrar," said his Honor. "However, the probation?]! officer reports favourably, and I do not/propose to send you to gaol. The only .thing-you did wrong wae to make a'false^tatemeht." Woods was allowed six months to pay.
