The New Zealand swimming championships will be opened here this afternoon. Unfortunately a cold snap has resulted in wintry conditions, and it is anticipated that the cold water will he to the disadvantage of some of the swimmers in the longer events. MOUNT EDEN CLUB. In the final section from the high board of the Auckland men's diving championship at the Mount Eden Baths E. Midgley (Ponsonby Club) was adjudged the winner, R. Ashby (Waitemata) being placed second, and H. Neale (Ponsonby) third). The previous holder of the title was W. Hassan (Ponsonby). A party of 16 Mount Eden swimmers will visit Cambridge to take part in a carnival controlled by the local club this evening. HAMILTON Y.M.C.A. CARNIVAL.
