ESCAPE FROM CHAOS.

REBUILD WORLD ECONOMICS. LONDON, January 28. "All countries are asking whether the world ie sinking into chaos," said Sir Walter Layton, editor of tlie "Economist," speaking at Whitefields Tabernacle. "Troubles are pronounced in countries which we regarded as the happy lands of the future. The crisis began in Australia. We are in a real aftermath of war. If world trade continued on present lines, it would soon be half that of 1929. "Shall we rebuild the world's economic and political life on a sound international basis, or let each individual country sink or swim?" he asked. "The root difficulty in building an international order is appreciating the other nation's viewpoint. "The Disarmament Conference is the key of the situation. It will test whether the nations trust one another to permit of the solution of the economic question. I am an optimist for 1932, because public opinion is outstripping the Governments."
