REMISSION OF SENTENCES. DESIRED BY M.P.'S. MINISTER TO MAKE INQUIRY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Replying to tlie representations of Dunedin Labour members who desire the remission of the sentences on the men convicted of being concerned in the recent unemployed disorder, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Justice, states that he has no authority to interfere with the magistrate's sentences, but lie will make inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the case.
