Sir George Fowlds was to-day elected an honorary life member of the Auckland Chamber of Commcrcc. Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, left for the South by the Limited express last evening. Mr. and Mrs.. A. G. Hall, of India, arrived from Eotorua yesterday. Thoy are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. E. G. Martin, general manager in New Zealand for the Atlantic Union Oil Company, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. Slaughter, uffieer-Lu-charge of the Labour Department in Auckland, left for Wellington by train last evening. The Rev. Dr. C. J. Morkane, rector of the Catholic College at Mosgiel, Dunedin, arrived in Wellington from Sydney this week. Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., and Mrs. Nasi), wlio have been on a visit to Auckland, will leave for Palmerston North tonight. Mr. A. E. Calder and Mr. H. Streich, of Melbourne, who have been on a visit to Eotorua, are at the Grand Hotel, Mr. C. H. Parsonage returned to Wellington by the Ulimaroa on Tuesday after a visit to New South Wales. Dr. A. Bramwell Cook, who lias been staying with his brother, Sir. Howard Cook, at Island Bay, Wellington, left last week for India, where he has accepted the position of sole administrator to the Emery Hospital, Gujerat. Mr. Douglas L. Dowcll, general manager for Australia for the Orient Lino, reached Wellington on Tuesday by the Uliinaroa 011 a short business trip to New Zealand. Mr. Dowell is also a, member of the board of the Australian National Association. j
