FROM OTTAWA TO LONDON.
It seems likely that the Economic Conference for which the Empire is anxiously waiting will be held not at Ottawa, as originally proposed, but in London. There was some appropriateness in the original choice, as Canada led the way in organising the policy of Preferential Trade, and she was prepared to go further with her concessions to Britain, while the Mac Donald Government had declared definitely against Imperial Reciprocity. But the advent of the new National Government and the abandonment of the Free Trade tradition at Home have completely changed the situation, and now that Britain is prepared to pay serious attention to the economic proposals and claims of the Dominions, it is natural that ibis conference should be held at the centre and heart of the Empire.
