GREAT TRIBUTE TO HOBBS

LONDON, December 25. When presenting tho trophies and prizes of the Lambeth Sunday School Union Athletic Association at their annual concert at Camberwell Green, London, A. 'E. R. Gilligan paid a great tribute to "the master batsman, Jack Hobbs." Many people, he said, had asked him whether he thought Jack, was too old to. oo to Australia next winter. He replied that, judging by the magnificent form Hobbs had shown in 1931, he thought it might be wise to take the Surrey batsman again, as at present no partner had yefc been found to open , the innings with Sutcliffe.
