GIRL'S DEATH.
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT.
FATALITY AT TE ATATU.
YOUTH WITH TEA RIFLE
Miss Evelyn Adamson, the Te Atatu girl who was admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday suffering from a wound in the forehead, caused by the accidental discharge of a .22 rifle by a boy engaged in shooting blackbirds, died last evening. Miss Adamson, who was 16 years of age, was working between rows of fruit on Mrs. J. C. Williamson's farm, and Hubert Hassett, aged 16, who was shooting blackbirds which had been eating tho fruit, was climbing through a row a chort distance from Miss Adamson. By some means the rifle was accidentally discharged, and the bullet hit Miss Adamson in the forehead. An inquest was opened by the coroner, Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., this morning. Evidence of identification was taken and the hearing was adjourned sine die.
