SIX BOXES OF GELIGNITE.

Enough explosives to blow up a section of' Sydney, according to the owner — six boxes of gelignite arid 5000 detonators —were stolen froni the rear, of the Long Bay rifle range, and. police are investigating:, a,suggestion that the robbery was-the _ work-of Reds. .....
. It is by. thefts of this nature, from time to-time, in greater or , less degree, that safe-breakers, bomb-makers and others of'the. disruptive fraternity are able to, secure their material, states the "Sun." V,
The explosives-had- been, stored at the work's of the Foundation Company, but were owned by a firm of-salvagers which had done work on the steamer Malabar, wrecked off Long Bay on April 2.
They were kept in. a magazine in a shed near .the-rifle range, but-when an employee of the salvagers went there' for "supplies, there was no shed. It lad disappeared, with "the explosives," and the police were immediately informed.
, Constable Ryan took over the inquiry, but when the "Red" theory, was advanced detectives under DetectiveSerg'eaiit Nicliolls were assigned to the investigation. The boxes each contained about 140 plugs of gelignite.
