TAURANGA REGATTA.

HELD IN IDEAL WEATHER. BUSY SCENE ON HARBOUR. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") TAURANGA, this day. Clorious Christmas weather to-day favoured the annual regatta organised by the Tauranga Regatta Committee, and the harbour never presented a prettier sight. Owing to the presence of the twenty yachts that competed in the Auckland to Tauranga ocean race, the various events were keenly contested. Particular interest was shown by the country people in Mr. Erling Tambs' Norwegian yacht Teddy. There was a very large gathering of people from all round the Bay of Plenty. Special trains brought many people from Taneatua, Whakatane and Te Puke, as well as from Te Aroha, Paeroa and Waihi. Service motor cars also brought in many passengers from the surrounding districts.
