ESCAPED PBISONEK. REPORT FROM TAUPIRI. It is nearly a week since Thomas William Wilson, the prisoner from Mount Eden gaol, escaped by leaving the Auckland Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment. The police are still keeping a strict watch in the city and country, also on the waterfront, but no definite information has been received concerning Wilson's movements. In .view of a report received that a man answering to the description of the escapee was seen walking in a southerly direction, about three miles from 1 " Taupiri at 6 a.m. yesterday, the Hamilton Police paid particular attention to the district, between Taupiri and Hamilton to-day.
