Sir Ernest A. Wallis Budge has given us another valuable book bearing on antiquities—-a translation of "Egyptian Tales and Romances." It is a book that throws light on the literature and customs of the Egyptian people over a very considerable periodj and that ie enhanced in value by a helpful introduction. One of the things it makes plain is that there were professional 6tory tollers in the days of Moses and the Pluiraohs, and that the raw material on which they wrought was, as in the case of professional, story tellers to-day, love and adventure.
