TAUMARUNTJI, Thursday. The Wanganui River has been running high for a fortnight, which ~is unusual io? this time of year.. Fishing has therefore, been patchy. Mr. Derbndge, accompanied by Dr. Armett, of Bam; - ton on one evening took nine fish wS-hing over a pound each, the best Mng 2-flb. -Mr. Robb.has also accounted for some good fish, three being oyer 31b each Mr .Stewart took a 31 pounder. No word of- salmon running has been heard so far vy the hon. rangers, Messrs Sadler and Worrall. They, hope that should fish well. Prospects *°' >May Sing are better than for year,. Most of the cottages will be ocxrpmd. , Mr. a„d Mrs. Swanger and party, i wi- Wsnuramu- for liuaugi, ai»" Mr' and Mrs. Cramer Roberts,, of Auck£l and family expect to be, a^ to early in the week; Mr. Resalt, otlScklSd, and family are also due then. .-
