Eae, of the HongkongShanghai Banking Corporation, Singapore, arrived by the Ulimaroa yesterday on a nine months' furlough. . Brigadier-General J. G. Steese, D.S.M , who represented the United Stateg Government at the loth.international navigation congress, held recently in Venice, was a passenger on the Marama, which arrived in WslUr^'on ye:i day. H-; will leave by the lonic for Panama on Saturday from Auckland. - Mr v P. L. Soljak, late of the "Auckland Star" literary staff, who has been awarded a university travelling passage to England this year, will leave by the Ulimaroa for Sydney on and connect on Arrival there with the Oraraa for. London. He will continue his studios at London University. Mr. Cyril L. Westcott, general manager for Australia and New Zealand of C. C. Wakefield and Company, arrived with the Norman Smith party by the Ulimaroa yesterday.
