DOMINION EGGS.
CANNOT BE SOLD AS NEWLAID. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, December 7. The Minister of Agriculture, Sir John Gilmour, replying to a question in the House of Commons suggesting that South African and Australian eggs were selling ae'newlaid, pointed out that the country of origin had to be marked on all imported eggs to .enable the consumer to decide whether they could be described as newlaid. He informed other questioners that he could not make a further statement on the wheat quota question, pending negotiations with all the interests concerned. He would not be able to" make a statement before the recess. Captain A. Crookshank.- Will you consider introducing a resolution approving of the principle of the quota in order to facilitate negotiations ? No answer was given. Mr. Mac Donald, in answer to a question, said Mr. J. H. Thomas would make a statement on the application of the quota to Canadian and Australian wheat before the recess. ,
