MATAMATA V. HIGH SCHOOL. At Matamata on Saturday High School, requiring 90 runs in their second innings to win, failed by 25. Scores:—_ Matamata.—First innings, 12u. Second , School.—First innings. 82. Second innings, 70 (Whelan 31, Ryan 13).
WAIPA ASSOCIATION. The Waipa Association's championship competitions were advanced another stage on Saturday. Te Awamutu visited Kaipaki and, batting first, put on 153 for nine wickets. Barnett 40, Philp and Adams 30 each both retired. Boucher took nve wirkots for as. Kaipaki could only score 4(5 (A/ Boyd 16, N. Sexton 11). Barnett captured nine wickets for 20.
PAEROA GAMES. The FiakO cricket championship was advanced a further staye on Saturday, when Paeroa Ramblers met To Aroha North on the Piieroa Domain and defeated the visitors. This was the first loss the To Aroha team has had this year. Uamblers batted first and made 1(>1 runs (Winter 50, Fox 28 not out, B. Howard 23, Stewart 14 and Taylor 12). Hattaway eiKht for 70 and Johnson two for uS trundled for Tc Aroha. To Aroha replied with 30, Boyd 17 being the only batsman to reneh double figures. Dare five for S and Winter three for 4 bowled well for Paeroa. A two-point win for Paeroa.
