APPRENTICE DROWNED.
BATHING IN DEEP HOLE. PLUCKY EFFORTS AT RESCUE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. Douglas Marsh (21), a boilermakers apprentice was drowned whilst bathing yesterday in a deep hole in the Waimata River. A companion named Michie, who is axi indifferent swimmer, and a 12-year-old boy. Trevor -Stevens, made plucky but ineffectual efforts to save him.
