ENGLISH "OLD BOYS."
PUBLIC SCHOOLS' CLUB. FORMATION IN AUCKLAND. Nearly 60 "old -boys" of English public schools were present at a meeting held in the Hotel Auckland on Saturday evening, when it was unanimously decided to form an English Public Schools' Club. The principal aims of the organisation are to form a bond of union among those who were educated, at Home, and to help newcomers to New Zealand. It i s hoped to be able to assist public schoolboys to nnd suitable occupations in this country. Negotiations are in train for the establishment of a club headquarters in Auckland.
Officers were,elected as follows:—President Mr. H. S. W. King (Duhvich); vicepresident,. Mr. W. A. Donald (Dulwich) • ion treasurer, Mr. E. C. Walton (Tonbridge); lion, secretary, Mr. "H.'.G. St. V. Jicechey (Duhvich); hon. steward, Mr J Gray (Wellington); committee, Messrs! R..E. Smith (Douai). E. J. C. Finny (Shrewsbury), E. K/ Clarke (Fettes), E Harper (Blue Coat), H. Owers (Merchant Taylors), W.Hately (Mercheston Castle), G. H.-_A: Lewm (King's, London), W. P. Gage-Brown (Westminster), R. F. Sawers (Sutton Yalance),W.S. J. Dale (H.M.s. Huret),. Rv'King (Hymers). The present address of the club is care are Mr. Beechey, P.O. Box 1087.
