SENT BACK TO PRISON. "I only came out of gaol last Monday," said Alfred Derbyshire, aged 40, a cook, who pleaded,gnilty at the Police Court to-day, to a charge of stealing an attache case containing woman's clothing of the total value of £lO on December 1. >• "Well, you are now going in again for three months," was Mr. F. K. Hunt's reply. L The facts were that Derbyshire and another man were in a hotel bar. When the owner of the attache case left it on the counter .for a few moments accused picked it up and left tlie hotel. The case was afterwards pledged for IQ/. "This man belongs to the petty thief class, and he will steal anything he can lay his hands on to sell to buy drink," said Detective Sergeant Kelly.
