RIFLE SHOOTING.

AUCKLAND CITY CLUB. The members of the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club completed the second trophy series at five and six hundred yards at Penrose on Saturday afternoon. The weather was very good and the right-hand breeze was very steady. G. G. Kelly established a line score of 96 out of 100 off the rifle with 49 at 500 aud 47 at 600. A Sommerville also shot extremely well for 49 and 46. 11. Simnionds and P. J. Pring scored 93 points each. Silver spoons were won by G. G. Kelly and P. J. Pring. A. Bright sunshine and a steady right wind were the prevailing conditions at Penrose when the members "of the Akarana Rifle Club fired their third shoot of the second trophy series over the ranges of 500 yds and *6ooyds for trophies presented byMessrs. F. R. Combes, E. Starkey and A. O. Smith. The shooting throughout was of a high standard. The three top men in their respective sections took trophy points.
