OFF TO HAMILTON

WAIKATO ON SATURDAY,

Although the, clay track was open at Epsom this morning there was_ little work done, most of the horses haying worked yesterday on the cinders. ' • Dad's Hope worked a mile and a half the reverse, way round in_ 3.32. He paced well, and was. always going comfortably. Rolfe Audubon was sent two miles unhoppled. He covered the journey in 4.57. Holly Boy was sent-a mile and a half, but he was tiring at ; the end. He went a mile ifl 2.20,. and was accompanied by the Gold Bell maiden in ; J. McKendrick's stable.

Reremai was brought to Epsom yesterday, and was'worked by F. Smith. She was sent over a .couple of rounds, and paced one mile in 2.19. She is in good condition to be prepared for the Cup.

Torpedo Huon has been going in improved style of late, and worked well witti Jewel Pointer over a mile and a half yesterday. Torpedo Huon will, be driven in the Waikato,Handicap by F. Smith.

The maiden trotter, Mati Hcrbilwyn. left this .morning for Hamilton to contest the trotters' races there.

F. B. McFarlane's team, Huon Voyage, Princess Mauritius. Donna Gulvallis, Wilbur White, and Nimble Direct, were on the track yesterday afternoon.

' HANDICAPS ON TUESDAY. Nominations for the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting close on Friday at 5 p.m., and on Tuesday Mr. C. 17 Goosman will declare the handicaps for the opening clay's card. A solid entry is expected in the Cup, and when the handicaps appear followers of the sport .will have an interesting problem to solve.

ADDITIONS TO STaWd;: Good progress is being made with the extending of the members' stand at Alexandra Park, and when the work, is complete the much-needed accommodation will be provided. In "the refreshment room will be a counter, and there will also bo a new Pressroom on the upper storey.
