BRISBANE, November 29.

The Test cricket match . South Africa v. Australia was continued at Brisbane yesterday in fine, hot weather. The wicket was wearing well. There were 20,000 spectators —a record for the Brisbane ground.

When stumps were drawn on Friday Australia had made 341 runs for six wickets, Bradman (200) and Oldfleld (3) being the not out men. At the close of play to-day the Australians were all out for 450 and the visitors had made 12C for three Avickets.

When play was resumed this morning the spectators saw Australia, on a good wicket, set a formidable task' for the South Africans. There was sparkling play by Oldfield, who made excellent snots in his partnership with Bradniaii, which yielded 60.

. Bradman succeeded in breaking Trumper's record score against the South Africans (214, not out, at Adelaide, 1910-11). He hit 24 fours and batted 227 minutes. Oldfleld, who carried his bat, gave an admirable display. He was 117 minutes at the crease and hit one six and five fours.

The visitors made a determined attack and their fielding was never loose. Cameron's smart wicket-keeping was [ a feature.

The visitors suffered an early setback in their first innings, three good wickets falling for 49. Then a solid partnership between Mitchell and Taylor stopped the rot, and was.not broken at the end of the day.

Their position necessarily restrained the visiting batsmen, and play wasquiet most of the afternoon until an hour before stumps were drawn, when both men hit out, particularly Taylor. The Australians' fielding was good, but Oldfield was below standard, missing three chances. Rune were always difficult to obtain, owing to thel consistent bowling, Only one run was scored off Grimmett's first six overs. Scores: — AUSTRALIA.—Firefc Innings.
