INTER-HOUSE SPORTS.
•GIRLS' GALA DAY. jj[ASSEI> MILITARY PAGEANT. GEEER'S SWEEP THE BOARD. In fine weather, and before a crowd o f about six thousand people, the postponed annual sports of the Auckland Inter-house Girls' Association were held nn Saturday, light rain falling in the fading moments. Arrayed in bright and harmonious colours to represent various well-known business houses in. the city, the teams formed a captivating pageant of colour. Unflagging interest was taken in the marching, drill, physical exercises, and the wide range of athletic events into which the competitors threw themselves with an enthusiasm, that won the admiration of spectators. Spectacular features of a wellorganised and ably controlled programme were the Grand Military March and Assembly of Teams, " The Parade of the : Wooden Soldiers," the physical drill display!, "The Girls' Brigade," and a irvmnastic demonstration, tributes to the fine training by Mr. T. P. Laffey. R. Greer and Son's team almost repeated its sweeping success of last year, by retaining all but one of its six trophies —the 75 yards championship, won by George Court, Ltd. In the points awarded, Greer's came out very easy winners, and practically gwept the board. The cup presented by Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Sharman to the House gaining the highest aggregate in team events again went to the girls of R, Greef and Sons, which House has held it ever since it was presented for competition four years ago.
