CYCLING.

AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB. The Auckland Amateur Cycle Club decided three events at the Lynndale track, Kew Lynn on Saturday. The rain that fell during the morning settled the dust on the track, making its safer for riders. Results: — Three Miles Handicap.—A. F. Johnson (220 yds), 1; H. C. Enderley (22O.vds), 2: K. Tates (240 yds). 3. Time, 7.45 1-5. A. P. Johnson rode another fine race. Bach of the front markers shared the pace, the scratch man not having a chance to catch up. In the sprint Johnson again showed his sprinting power, winning by three yards. There were 11 starters. Half-mile Handicap.—Final: K. A. Tates (53yds) 1, C. Gooder (35yds) 2, A. P. Johnson (45yds) 3. There were six starters. Tates rode a fine race for a novice, and won by nearly half a wheel Brown (scr) 1, W. Crocker (80yds) 2, N. Time, 1.9 1-5. One Mile Handicap.—First heat: H. O. Briar (105 yds) 3. Time, 2.30 2-5. Second heat: A. F. Johnson (90yds) 1, B. Scott (50yds) 2, C. Gooder (70yds) 3. Time, 2.27 2-5. Final : A. F. Johnson 1, H. O. Browne 2, B. Scott 3. There were twelve starters. Browne (f;cr) caught the field early and led for the last two laps, but Johnson outsprinted him by inches at the finish. Time, 2.32 2-5.
