VERTIGERN BEATEN. THE JUDGE HOOTED: SYDNEY. November 29. There was a hostile demonstration at Canterbury Park yesterday when Warneton -was' adjudged the -winner of the Canterbury Handicap over the X-ew Zealand horse Yertigern, owned arid trained oy W. D. Moroney. The judge was hooted, but the Press view is that the decision was correct and that M. McCarten, on Yertigern. was caught napping. Details of the race are:—-" CANTERBURY HANDICAP -of 150sovs. with a sweepstake of isov each added. One mile and three furlongs. . WAR.NETON. 7.10 —O'Bryan .'. 1 VEIfTIIiERX. HAWKE'S BAY HORSES RETURN HOME. The Hawke's Bay trainer K. Alexander is returning to Hastings to-day with Chrysology and Monarch, who came north lor the Takapuna meeting.
