MINING ACTIVITY.
WAITAHUNA GULLY OPTION. SOUTH ISLAND OPERATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ■ . DUNEDIN, this day. The representative of a group of English, capitalists, who was recently in the Tuapeka district, has acquired an option over the Sailors' Gully sluicing company's mining property at Waitahuna Gully, and a substantial deposit has beeji tendered. The company possesses a very valuable water right, which controls a big tract of country known to be cement bearing. Over 260 miners' rights have been issued at Lawrence during the current year. This gives some indication of the increase which is taking place in mining activity.
