REPUDIATION.
(Published by Arrangement.)
The Self.Contradictory Labour Party,
"I do not believe in paying any debts; will you lend me £23,000,000." This, in effect, sums up the financial policy of the Labour party. In one breath, Mr. Holland and his colleagues talk of repudiation, and in the next of borrowing £25,000,000.
How on earth do they hope to deceive electors with such statements; much less the people whom they would ask to invest ? It is inconceivable that Mr. Holland seriously intends to put both proposals into effect, and it is just a sample of how he is endeavouring to run with the hare and - hunt with the hounds.
Present conditions in New Zealand are too serious to be treated lightly, and a "yes-no" policy is the tiling which will do most harm. It is vitally important that the finances of this country be placed in capable hands, and not in those of the .self-contradicting, irresponsible Labour party.
In making his appeal to the Dominion, Mr. : Downie Stewart voices a solemn warning regarding the Labour party and the disastrous effect its _ return would have on this country. His words show clearly that the Coalition Government is facing its responsibilities seriously, with a logical, sane, constructive policy.
