PROGRESS IN THE NORTH.
NEW DAIRY FACTORY AT KAEO. - (From Our Own Correspondent.) KAEO, Friday. The Whangaroa Co-operative Dairy f new factory at Kaeo was officially opened on Monday by Mr. 11. M. ■Rushworth, M.P. for Bay of Islands, in the present, of between 400 and 500 people, there being visitors from as far south as : Pemgaere, Waipapa, K-erikeri and Kawa- ,> kawa. There was a large attendance of school children, a, school holiday having beeix declared for the occasion.- Mr. W. A. Lane, chairman of directors, presided, ; and- the speakers were Mr. W. Dempt-er, representing the Dairy Division, Mr. Mcintosh, of the Kaitaia Dairy Company, -Vlr. Hingston, Bay of Islands, Mr. HoskjQS, Oruru Dairy Company, and Mr. ■Broun, Hokianga. On Thursday a carnival will be opened, and continued on Friday, in aid of the funds of the Methodist Church. Arrangements have_ been made for the transport of-patrons from all points of the compass, and a large truck load of children is ~ from the Iverikeri end of the 'district. .
