HENDERSON RECLUSE.
ESTATE VALUED AT £35,000
WIDOW SOLE' BENEFICIARY.
The estate of Henry Charles Swan, the English barrister •who had for 25 years lived a solitary life on a yacht in the Henderson Creek, has been valued at £35,000. Mrs. Swan, the widow, who lives at Devonport, is the sole beneficiary. Mr. Swan was. a graduate in law at Oxford his family was one of the oldest legal firms at Newcastle-on-Tyne. He made a hobby of botany and fruit farming. At Henderson he had a fruit farm and studied the control of .orchard pests. Before the yacht was moored at Henderson, Mr. Swan made cruises around the New Zealand coast. At his novel home he had a good library.
