ROWDYISM AT MEETINGS.

The unpleasant disturbances at political meetings are to be deplored. Certainly a calmer feeling would have more effect either way* The cause of rowdyism is not by any means to be found among extremists. Labour generally, skilled and unskilled, is quite cognisant of the acute metamorphosis of many of the candidates soliciting their votes. They have not forgotten that Reform, totally discredited at the last general election, is the predominant partner in the Coalition Government, That party pursued the easy path of borrowing andspending (squandering, if you like), and now come before the electorate as the ot thrift and economy. The deplorable condition of the country is evident to all classes ot workers, and they 110 doubt will do their share to help, but Reform must not think to obliterate its past bv the adoption of new slogans.
