TELEPHONE RENTAL.
Four years' ago I had the telephone installed in my house at an annual rental of £0. Since that time it has gradually increased until it has reached £8 10/. I have asked' the Department to revert to the former rental and' my request has been refused and the 'phone is to be discontinued unless I agree' to pay tlis increased rental. Although I have very .little use for the telephone, I regret to lose it altogether and should like to keep it on at the terms originally arranged. Considering the alleged drop in prices which the Government, loses - no opportunity to bring before the public, I think it unreasonable to demand an increase in these charges. Surely the time has arrived for a reduction and not an increase. .It occurs to me that it is quite time that a new business manager was appointed. who would give subscribers fair and reasonable treatment.
