EXPENSIVE SPORT.
There has been some discussion lately as to which is the most expensive sport— yachting, motor racing, racing or coaching. Coaching, if you run a daily coach, costs about £125 a week, so I was told recently by an authority. l He instanced Frederic Unwin's stage coach, the Greyhound, which is one of the gay, .familiar sights of London in summer, as it starts out on its daily run from Piccadilly to a hotel near Ascot. This is the only daily stage coach left in the world, and it demands the full--1 time services of a stud of between 30 and 40 horses, a guard, coachman and a bevy of ostlers at each change on the road. The coach does sixty miles a day, weighs over a ton, is. a hundred years old, and could not be built to-day for £500. None of the horses wear anti-slipping pads or even roughened shoes, yet they never fall down. The average age of the subscribers ! is three score years and ten. I
