ASMODEUS RESUMES WORK.

KING WIN improving;

The Acre—Lady Sykes" gelding Bland- . ford, who was handled We, last month, j has now joined J. Winder's team at i Thames. -

The latest addition to' G. A. Eeid's team I is the Nassau- gelding Asinodeus.; : ; He is in ' good condition to resume work, : and with a few sharpening up gallops will be ready 3 to carry silk. Mungatoon has been on the easy list lately on account of a slight cold. He has put on condition during his spell and will j. now spend a few weeks at his owners Waitoa property. Mr. Swney does not wish to • hurry this Musketoon two-year-old, as it is i thought advisable to allow him time to ■ mature before being raced. j The two-year-old Master Musk- has been

taken out of work in the meantime, but Mi-. R. BUHines.may be -depended upon to see that, although running in the paddock, lie will .not' be allowed ,to lose his racing condition. This Musketoon juvenile has shown promise in his track work.

Miss Albyn looks likely to come to hand quickly. She is not at all in gross condition and is putting plenty of vim into her work. The Glen Albyn mare seems to have benefited materially by her spell of some months and may race to advantage this season.

A. E. Cox has Star Lap executing good work and she is certainly all the better for her run at Cambridge on Labour Day. She has furnished nicely since being put into work ' this season, and, rightly placed, should p>ay her way satisfactorily. King Win was not at his best when raced on Labour Day and he -appears to have had an off week. He has once more brightened up, .is doing his work consistently without undue effort, and pulls up without showing any signs of distress. He may Ije suited to the long_ straight at Te! Kapa, and.if-so may finish in the money. The Lapidary—Multini two-year-old Tin Lap is going on the right way_ and promises to make good. She is a nice/mover, lias a fair share of speed, and executes her work in a thorough willing manner. Gigantic may: be said to be improving every week, and the Colossus gelding is certainly furnishing into a nice type _o» racehorse, displaying pace and showing strength of conformation. He is lengthening out nicely and should be one of the first of the local two-year-olds to get on the winning list. . Mr. Alex Swney's Harputa is being regularly schooled over the obstacles by J. Preston and is showing capability in this department. He is to contest the hurdle events at the Waikato meeting next week, when he will be ridden bj v Preston. The St. Amans gelding may require some runs in public before being seen at his best.
