AFTER 39 YEARS.
VALUED SERVANT RETIRES,
After a period of service with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company extending over 39 years, Mr. Arthur D. Sims has retired, headquarters having authorised this step with a pension allowance, as a token of esteem to an old and valued servant.
Yesterday members of the Auckland staff met Mr. Sims and presented him with a set of bowls as a mark of their regard. Mr. H. D. Robinson, manager, reterrcd to the great esteem in which Mr. Sims had been held by the clientele of the firm and the company's officers. Always zealous in his duties, courteous and diplomatic to customers, loyal to his firm to the last degree, he had set a very high example to the younger members of the staff. Other speakers joined in the good wishes expressed by Mr. Robinson, and in the hope that Mr. Sims would live ■many years to enjoy his well-earned rest.
