PRICES AGAIN HIGHER,
LONDON, November 5,
Cargoes, influenced by better American closing quotations, were higher. Argontine options were firm. were 6d to 9d clearer. Australians were little changed, but have a good demand. Part ex i oshida Maru, 30/9; West Australian, ex unnamed ship, December, 31/; four other West Australians, December-Janu-ary 31/, 31/, 31/3, 31/1%; New South \-Vales, December-January, bulks 3/6 net,' 30/9, 30/7%. Parcels were firmer and advances of 6d to 9d were demanded with traders not inclined to follow. Business was small. There was renewed Russian inquiry for grain space for December loading. West Australians ex unnamed vessels December-January, 31/3; January, 31/. Futures: London: December, 28/6* a quarter; February, 29/; June, 30/3. Liverpool: December, 6/1% a; cental; March, 6/5 Vi; May, 6/7%. The spot trade is quiet, with prices generally higher. Australian, ex ship, 32/9. PRICES FOR METALS. RISE IN QUOTATIONS.

Electrolytic Copper.—Spot, „£42 10/ (£42); three months, £43 10/ (£42 10/). Wire Bars.—£43 10/ (£42 10/). ' Lead.—Spot, £13 17/6 (£l3 10/); three months, £13 16/10V2 (£l3 10/). Spelter.—Spot, £13 7/6 (£l3 7/6); three months, £13 16/10%; (£l3 17/6). Tin.—Spot, £128 15/7% (£127 10/); three months, £130 16/10% (£129-13/9).

PRICES AT SMITHFIELD.
The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its Loudon office as at the close of business this week:—
Wethers.—Trade is slow; improvement in demand not expected yet. Ewes: The market is depressed owing to absence of demand. Lamb: The market is depressed owing to larger supplies from other sources. Wethers, light, 3%d to 1% per lb; heavy, 3d to 3%d; ewes, 2% to 3%d; lambs, twos, 7 1 Ad to 7%d; eights, fi!4d to 6%d; fours, 5d to 5%d; seconds, 5%d to 6d.

Wheat for delivery in December is quoted at 66% cents per bushel, for delivery in March at 70 cents, for Slay delivery 71 1 /2 cents, and for July 72 5 /f< cents.
