The monthly report for October states, Inter alia:—No. S north intermediate, McVicar reef: A level was started from the top of the rise recently risen 24 feet above the back of No. 3 north level. At 35 feet from the crosscut, stone came in and has been driven on 19 feet. The face shows stone 4 feet 6 inches wide. Gold can be seen freely in the ore: only one assay has been taken, the result being 120/ per ton.
