The weather was fine for training operations at Riccarton this morning. The outside of the course proper and the plough were in good order, while a couple of gallops took place on No. 6 grass track. Some good gallops were registered, but many horses did only useful work.

On No. 6 grass track Kakara ran scevn furlongs in 1.30, Hoa accompanying her over the first half-mile.

Palace and Tautbow went ■well over six furlongs in 1.15 2-5.

Course Proper. Manetho and Arrowmaid did fire furlongs in 1.4. Meprisant and Riri ran a mile in 1.43 1-5. Solwit, Nightflycr and Miss Bradbury sprinted five furlongs in 1.3 3-5. Martian Chief and Rose of Orange ran a mile and a quarter in 2.15, the last'half-mile taking 525. Cimabue ran five furlongs in 1.3 3-5. Samson and Giggleswick took 1.50 for a mile.

Ramo and Royal Love covcred one mile and a half in 2.43. The pace was; not fast early, _ but they ran home the last half-mile in 50 3-ss. Ramo had a slight advantage at the finish. Cricket Bat covered a mile and a quarter, Zeebrugge going with him the last mile. The Derby colt registered 2.10, taking 52 2-5s for the last halfmile. It was a good gallop. Croupier and Kozan did five furlongs in 1.3 3-5.

Gay Crest and Adelphi were not troubled to do 1.31 3-5 for seven fur-

longs. Dunraven, Semper Paratus and Jason's Quest ran seven furlongs in 1.30 4-5. Juniper showed plenty of dash over half a mile, run in 49 2-ss.

Tout Le Mond ran half a mile in 50 2-ss.

Minerval ran seven furlongs in 1.31 2-5, Jolly Beggar joining in the last half-mile.

Volga Boatman and Michael Angelo completed half a mile in 49 4-ss. Gustavo and Charnieuse registered 1.14 2-5 for six furlongs — a good gallop in which they finished on terms.

Sharp Thorn beat Grecian Prince over seven furlongs in 1.31. Great Star dashed over five furlongs in 1.2 1-5, doing the last half-mile in 495.

Grand Review ran seven furlongs in 1.31, after showing speed over the early part. Compris and Charmaine covered nine furlongs in 1.5G from a standing start. They finished on well, Compris having a slight advantage. Night Guard and Rational 11. did seven furlongs in 1.31 2-5. .d '■ . v

Ravine beat Tarquinius over six furlongs in 1.16 1-5, Eclair taking 1.18 3-5. Monastic finished in front of Water Polo over five furlongs in 1.3 1-5.

The two-year-olds Oratorious, Skysong and Lady Zephyr ran. down the straight from the live-furlong post. •Latin Quarter and 'Ruling Light ran a mile and a quarter in 2.13 3-5, the last mile taking 1.46. 4-5, and the last half-mile 53 4-ss. The Otago two-year-olds Bell Hill and Fine Weather dashed over half a mile in 48 4-ss. Silver Streak easily beat Gold Dust over half a mile in 49 l-ss. Locksley and Irish Chief tian were .well matched over six furlongs in 1.15 4-5. On the Plough. Taku Tama went six furlongs, the last half-mile taking 50 3-ss. On the plough Jaloux and Azalea went twice round, the first time at half-pace and the second time fast, sprinting home the last three furlongs smartly in 375. Lord Argosy and Lord Buchan did useful work.

Lady Pam and Actacon ran seven furlongs comfortably in 1.32. Babel covered six furlongs in 1.17 Ball Dress and Owlsflight following In 1.18.

Moorbird ran six furlongs in 1.15 1-5. the best of the morning on this track. View. Halloo beat Spoon by a neck, with Fiji a length away, after running seven furlongs in 1.29 4-5, a good gallop. Spearful strode out freely in a working gallop over six furlongs. ° Admiial Drake and Black Duke galloped one mile and a quarter in 2.12. They kept together all the way, going at an even pace and finishing on well. Nightmare took 1.19 1-5 for six furlongs, going easily. t Ephialtes. did one mile and a quarter ® 2.11, taking 39s for the last three furlongs.

Rossferry and Countermarch ran six furlongs in 1.18 2-5.

Gay Court and Lady Vane moved freely over six furlongs in 1.17 3-5. . Ties Sec beat Hounslow at tre end of six furlongs in LlB.

Bronze Eagle, Peter Jackson, Gibraltar and Barbacan were galloped seven furlongs. Bronze Eagle trailed the others for half a mile and then dashed past them and won easily iu 1.32. Pixie Gold occupied 1.19 for six furlongs.

H. E. Russell's team—Jayson, Adventus, Beacon Fire and the two-year-old Lack—were restricted to useful work. Limited ran three furlongs in 38 l-ss. Mount Boa and Chief Light ran six furlongs in 1.17 2-5. They finished together, but Mount Boa was conceding his companion weight. The Viscount and Fortune's Wheel covered six furlongs in 1.17 3-5. Quantum registered 1.16 for six furlongs, showing great dash over the early stages.

The Jumpers.

Gourmet gave a good display over four hurdles, clearing out over the last part from Landmark, whose effort was poor Captain's Gift jumped four hurdles in. great style. Desert (7?ow gave a satisfactory display over four hurdles and then worked twice round on the plough. Whiffler was schooled over four hurdles, going carefully.
