MOTOR CYCLING.

NORTH SHORE CLUB.

SEASON'S PROGRAMME

ARRANGED

An extensive programme of activities for the forthcoming season has been mapped out by the North Shore Motor Cycle Club. A run to Sharp's Bush has been arranged for November 8, riders leaving the railway station at 10 a.m. During the afternoon novelty items will be staged. The club executive is meeting this week to finalise the details of the three Sports events which are to be held during the summer, a race meeting at Henning's Speedway, Mangere, on December 5, a hill climb on the North Shore on December 20 and a race meeting on Orewa Beach early in the New Year.

The club has also decided to arrange a number of picnics on the lines of their successful annual picnic held last March. Novel displays and contests, stunt riding, balloon spearing and apple eating will be a feature of the outings.

A general meeting will be held at the club rooms on November 10. Mr. A. Harry's address on "Motor Cycling in England," which was postponed from last meeting, is to be delivered then. A general meeting of the Auckland Sports Motor Cycle Club will be held at the club rooms to-night. After business Mr. Spencer Mason will address members on "Aviation."

Arrangements are being made for a hill-climbing contest to be held shortly, probably at St. Helier's, where there is a very suitable spot situated on private property. The club is negotiating with the owner for permission to use it.

Although British machines and British riders have generally been doing well in international contests on the Continent during the past year, they failed in the International Six-days' Trial over the Italian Alps.

The trophy went to the Italian team, with the Germans as runners-up. Holland won the vase, but the team was mounted on two Rudge machines and one foreign make. An Italian team took second place.
