Dr. R. Kuraz, Consul-General in Australia and New Zealand for Czechoslovakia, arrived at Wellington by the Monowai yesterday from Sydney.
Mr. M. R. O'Shea, registrar of Auckland University College, leaves this evening for .Wellington, w;liere he will spend about a week on college business.
Mr. J. Stewart, an Auckland director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, left last evening for Christchurch, where he will take up a position with the same firm.
■Mr,A. C. Stedman, New Zealand singles tennis- champion, left by the Aorangi last evening for Sydney, where lie will undergo a course in coaching. He will also compete in the Victorian Lawn Tennis Association's championships.
Dr. J. J. Xorth, president of the New Zealand Baptist Union, left last evening for Christchurch to attend the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church, of which he was formerly a minister. He will spend about eix weeks in the South Island.
The Rev. Father R. H. Tribe, director of the Society of the Sacred Mission, left for Hamilton to-day. He will visit Southern centres before returning at the end of the month to Auckland to sail for South Africa, where he will be engaged on mission work for three months.
The Rev. J. K. Archer, who is the Labour candidate for the Kaiapoi electorate, has resigned his position as pastor of the Colombo Street Baptist Church, after serving a term of over twelve years. lie •will" now devote his time to the Labour movement. Air. Archer has been a Baptist minister for over ?0 veal's. ,
