FIRE IN STATE FOREST.

CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
Damage running into hundreds of pounds was done to a State plantation near Hanmcr by a lire which broke out yesterday and raged for four hours. An area of about 150 acres- was affected. Fanned by a strong northwest wind the flames spread rapidly, and 150 men had to work hard to check the outbreak.
