At a meeting of the New Lynn Dental Clinic r Committee on Thursday, Mr. Tom Mortimer, re / elected ■ Un : !" ■■' fortunately confusion etill exists, among , parents as to why some children have to be refused treatment, and the comnittec wish to point ou>t again that ; thi;'clinic is solely for the prevention of bad teeth, which means that children ,are taken as young as possible and treated all;through their school days up to- Standard Iv*:, after .which the care of their teeth should be in the hands of dental surgeons. So far clinics have only reached about 20,000 of New Zealand; .children, and there are etill . some 60,000 who get no clinic " ' treatment. - Therefore, children are continually going into New Lynn in' ! iuc-i a state that (they are beyond-;'the' scope of the clinic. Such cases should go to the dental hospital. >' $■'. The envelope system, although-not yet complete, is working satisfactorily,-'some 200 subscribers" having given about "£lfi. There- are still some 150 envelopes not returned, and £50 is the total sunt ■ required. ■ ■ i ' -'a
