GARDEN FETE.

Mrs.«C. E. Milligan was hostess at a garden fete at her home in the Waitakeres on Saturday afternoon to assist the funds of the Presbyterian Home Mission in the district". In spite of the weather conditions a large number attended and the function proved most enjoyable and successful, a sum of £12 being raised. Opening the fete, Colonel Marriott congratulated the ladies on their splendid effort to "balance the church- budget. Mrs Milligan received her guests wearing a frock of biscuit-shaded crepe de chine, with a lace coatee to tone, and a black Bangkok hat. She was assisted by her daughter, Miss Mary Milligan, who wore a picture frock of powder blue spotted crepe de chine. The stalls were in charge of th? following:—Cakes' and sweets Mrs. Y. J.
