Lighter Suits Popular.—Bowler And Sailor Hats. — Spring

Colours Predominate.

Although the weather most of the forenoon was fine, and blue skv and bright sunshine tried to encourage racegoers to wear new models, heavy showers put wearers on their guard, and therefore maiiy of the new light materials were not to be seen. However, a number of smart suits in very light-weight tweed were worn, and accompanying them in most cases were Fashion's latest whim, , the bowler or the sailor hat.
