THIS PANORAMIC VIEW OF A PORTION OF THE BUSINESS PART OF NAPIER covers the bulk of the area which was devastated by the earthquake and fire in Fooruary last. Although a great quantity ote e ris been deared away U will he noticed that many of the blocks are in much the same condition as they were left after the Dominion's worst calamity. Some of the well-known places m the area are numbered. (1) Tl r> . r\(c, /o\ 'tl faleJlfinian Hotel one of the few which survived the 'quake and fire. (3) Dalgety's building, yrhich suffered little loss. (4) The Catholic Church, which remained intact. (5) W. »h£houtw.% damped ,»dS»' „w\=Lg rep.irfd7 (6) The St. Paul'. Pre.byt.rian Church, which h.d been completed befor. .he ' 'quake. Services are now held in the corrugated iron building on the adjacent site.
