DECREASE FOR LAST WEEK. REGISTRATIONS AND PART-TIME. WELLINGTON, this day. A decrease of almost 500 in the tot.il registrations of unemployed men and a decrease of more than 4000 in the number engaged in part-time relief senemes is shown by the return's of unemployment at October 12, as compared with October 5, in.a statement.issued by the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates to-day. . . '■ . TJio Dominion .totals felt from 51,408 to 50,930. The number in. partial employment under relief schemes were 32,964 on October 12, and 37,009 a week earlier. Part of tho decrease under this heading is due to a number of men standing off, owing to-the rationing of relief work to keep within the available funds, and part of it is due to the drafting of iinemployed into relief canips. Auckland figures, with the earlier totals shown in parentheses, are as follows,: —Registra'tions, 7030 (7190); parttime relief, 5772 (5841); unplaced, 1258 (1349).
