RUGBY COMPLAINT.
SCRUM RULE ALTERATION.
ENGLAND'S ARBITRARY MOVE,
DISSATISFACTION IN CANTERBURY
(By Telegraph..—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, this day,
At the meeting of ' the. Canterbury Rugby Union, a letter was received from the New Zealand Union stating that the union had been advised that the proposed alteration to the rule affecting the putting of the ball into the scrum, had application to the three-two-three scrum only, and that its effect on the two-three-two scrum was being' considered. Mr. S. IV Wilson said that he had always held the view that the New Zealand Union should uphold the Home body, but on the present occasion he considered that a protest should be entered against the English Union in appointing an advisory board, and 'at the' same time making the suggested alterations before the new body could meet. In his opinion, it was a most discourteous thing to do. The New Zealand Union should hold a special meeting to discuss the ■ matter •before it sent any representative to. attend a further conference. . It was decided to write to tlie New Zealand Union on the lines of Mr. Wilson's remarks. ■ •:.
