PLAY ABOUT WOMEN.
. If all men suddenly resented women as much as the crusty old bachelors at the Concert Chamber last evening, when the Little Theatre- Society presented "This Wyfcman Business," a play with a most appropriate title, it would certainly be a solution to world depressions, Avars, the cost of living and other problems that make up' existence. But in spite of the barbed arrows that came from the masculine lips, including a feeling toast, "Eden Without Eve!" the women members of the. audience smiled, and ap.plauded without malice. They had great faith in Miss Dora Spence, who took the part of Crawford, the secretary-maid in the - midst of this den of women-haters, and who, by the versatility of her understanding, her ability to sink.her .own personality and encourage ;eac;lr- man fin- talking of ills own particular hobby, won the day by sheer force of feminine tact and diplomacy. Funnily enough, most of the ■laughter; at the' men's discomfiture seemed to be from the men; the women did not heed.to laugh. There was not much scope for frocking in the play, and Miss Spence made her first appearance in a smart tailored suit of navy blue, with trim little white collar and cuffs, and a navy blue sailor straw hat.'to match. A plain tweed skirt and cream sleeveless blouse were worn in the next act, and later she appeared in dark brown riding breeches, in which sho'looked most attractive/Miss Skeels, who took the part of the maid, Nettlebank, wore a mauve frock, with cap and apron. Among the . audience were: Mesdames Ewen,-C. Keeble, C. B. Plummer, Jumeaux, D. MacGregor, Isemonger, Stanley Reid, Jacob, M. M. MeCallum, H. E. Gillespie, Weston, Mowbray, Harri-son-Gregory, E.
